Salon de Ballon: Birds

21st January 2026 (19.00- till late) // Tickets £10 // Open to public

A modern take on the idea of the French salon, created by artists Sadie Hennessy & Lee Carter - designed to "entertain & educate"

The Salon de Ballon is a participatory event where everyone is encouraged to bring something related to the theme, to share over the course of the evening.  This does not have to be performative (though it can be), it could be a reading, an anecdote, a joke, a dance, an idea, a foodstuff - whatever you like (max 3mins).  Ticket numbers are very limited due to the size of the space.  There will be a cheap bar.  The theme of this Salon is: Birds - this can be any interpretation of the word and the theme.

As creatives, you will probably have a sense that we humans communicate through our nervous systems as much as our intellects; safety, co-regulation, and connection are paramount to a healthy human experience.

Kate Lowe is giving a 30-minute talk on learning to regulate the nervous system as a way to increase creative potential by cultivating the physiological and mental states which support creativity, curiosity, and the exploration of new ideas.
