Artist Studios Reimagined
Tailored to suit your practice.
Artist Criteria
When a space becomes available, our Kindred team visits the list of applicants to find suitable matches and a few applicants will be contacted for a visit. Kindred runs a selective process which favours artists which are a good cultural fit along with the qualities below.
Our artists are, by nature, community minded. This is an essential quality for membership.
Studios are occupied by a diverse group of talented professional artists and makers. We encourage our members to get to know each other and get involved in collaborations, studio tours and members’ talks.
Kindred artists are dedicated professionals who are open, hard-working and willing to engage with our Outreach programmes by committing two days of their professional time per annum. We require our Kins to use their studios frequently and expect our members to participate in the creation and delivery of our bi-annual and popular Open Studios events.
Kindred offers a variety of opportunities - to learn more about professional practice through talks and seminars, to participate in exhibitions, to access critiques and to sell work. In return, we look for artists who are keen to support both fellow creatives and the wider collective.
Fixed & Flexible Studios
In our new forever home site in North Kensington, we offer a mixture of Fixed and Flexible Studios priced to make them suitable for artists at all stages of their practice. Flexible Studios start from £164 per month and Fixed studios for as little as £350 per month.
All Fixed Studios are lockable and Flexible Studios can add lockable storage. All spaces have large windows, sockets, speedy WiFi and plenty of communal space to work from. Fixed Studios have a two-month refundable deposit and Flexible Studios have a £164 sign up fee.. Our site has a wonderful terrace, overlooking the canal, a vegetarian café, a dedicated gallery, project spaces and a set of brilliant artist resources, including a shared Print Studio, Textile Studio, Ceramic Studio, Rehearsal Space and Shoot Space!
Workshop Packages
The Workshop Packages are add-ons to your Fixed or Flexible Studio. They can be used one month at a time or continuously. These packages aren’t available without a studio with Kindred.
